Do the old really get wiser with age?

Who can we turn to for wisdom in the human world? In studies in which participants were asked to nominate individuals that they thought wise, the average age for nominees was about 55 or 60 [source: Sternberg]. Nominees in one specific study included such old-timers as Gandhi, Confucius, Socrates, Queen Elizabeth, the Pope and Ann Landers [source: Sternberg]. Clearly, the public believes that with age comes wisdom.  Read the article linked below for a long interesting discussion.

Speaking personally, there isn't anything about the younger generation that wouldn't be cured by a quick slap up side the head!!   Can I start with my two sons?  (An aside from a proud father... they are pretty quick and smart and wise.  But, that ruins my rant.)  I'm tired of them thinking they know more than me!

On another tack, where's my Prozac I asked for on a previous blog entry?

Read the article, and you'll know that the Prairie Pooch is right about the wisdom of people his age, and proof that the younger generations are going to the dogs.
