Boring Technical Photo Browsing Talk

This website is created by men, for men and as such has frequent pictures of women.  It will never have pornographic or even R-rated pictures, if you haven't figured that out by now.

For anyone interested, here's a little technical note about how I generally discover these photographs.  It might be useful to others.  And, if there is a better way, let me know.

I use the Google Reader to read and monitor other blogs.  Flickr.com is one of the most frequently used photograph repositories on the web, and is my primary source.  I suspect it has billions of photos by now!  When using Google Reader, here's my search string I enter in my browser...

http://www.google.com/reader/view/?tab=my#stream/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fapi.flickr.com%2Fservices%2Ffeeds%2Fphotos_public.gne%3Ftags%3Dwoman%26lang%3Den-us%26format%3Datom

Basically, if I understand the parameters, ignoring the hexidecimal codes, it searches the flickr.com public photo feed, filtering on the keyword "woman."

Click on the above link to try. In the link above, if you edit "woman" to any other search string you can create other searches.  (I have another search term for Iraq, and another for Afghanistan and find a lot of photos placed on Flickr.com by military personnel.  Interesting!)

Have fun!      Prairie Pooch
