ALI AL SALEM AIR BASE, KUWAIT -- Step into the latrine on a U.S. military base in Kuwait, and you'll see plenty of dumbassery scrawled on the walls -- and no shortage of Chuck Norris jokes.
But like Noah, I'm fascinated by what I read. It would be simplistic to see these toilet-stall scribblings as the most honest or authentic form of expression. But they do give raw, unfiltered glimpse of the life in a deployed military -- what photographer Steve Featherstone described as "snatches of an overheard and ongoing conversation."
