A camera lens focuses the image on a flat photoreceptor, and Voila! We've got a problem. The focus is sharper in the center then at the corners. The eye fixes this problem by utilizing a curved receptor that keeps the focus sharp out to the ediges. Brilliant, Watson!Now, new technology makes possible similar curved photoreceptors. This might revolutionize photos taken by smallish devices like cell phone cameras.
